There's so much here that I like that it's a little bit hard for me to talk about.

Felt wide-brim hat.

It's casual, it's chic, it's all I want to be this spring.

Huh, guess it wasn't really that hard for me to talk about.

snow day style...

Well, 19 inches of snow fell in Manhattan last night. It really is amazing how fast it piles up - quieting the streets and making even the busiest avenues look picturesque - but how crazy, dirty, wet and wild things look by 9 a.m. Depending on where you live, where you work, and how you're getting there, you really have no idea what kind of conditions you might be up against on a day like this. I've pretty much taken up the mentality that as far as snow day style is concerned, nothing below the knee counts.

For example, today I'm wearing black BDG jeggings, my Gap maroon boyfriend button-down shirt with a cream lace t-shirt layered over it, vintage Missoni scarf, a ballerina topknot and oversize pearl earrings, and my vintage mink coat (Ray Ban aviators to shield my peepers, obviously). However below the knee, I'm donning thick grey ski socks and knee-high black rubber wellington boots. (I'll try to blog this look asap - it's a goodie.) Just because children have the day off from school does not mean you must take the day off from looking chic!

{utterly obsessed} Leighton Meester in Versus

Ahhhhh, wow. So I'm sure many of you get the daily emails from Who What Wear, but do you read their blog? It's pretty wonderful. It's a great source of the latest celebrity looks, magazine editorial images and ad campaigns, etc. I owe the WWW blog a huge thank you for bringing the following image to my attention. My love and adoration of a certain Gossip Girl girl has been restored. Imagine my surprise and delight upon seeing this:

Leighton! My god, how beautiful does she look? I am rather obsessed with her, and I'm usually really sad when I see photos of her out and about. She often makes really questionable make-up and wardrobe choices. But this look? This is something I can get down with. She's looks flat-out stunning in a black Versus dress and Pierre Hardy shoes. And her eyes! And hair! She looks so soft and just, pretty. I mean, I am sort of dying right now, over this. The tough Fallon ring and flirty bright pink polish on her fingers top things off nicely.

How Miss Meester looks here is how I wish I looked all. the. time. Perfect LBD + bold shoes + major black lashes = a can't miss combo.

I'm just going to marinate in this for a while and dream up ways to emulate such a look...
